Namaaz Tracker (“we”, “us”) is a free app and website for keeping a personal record of your five daily prayers. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We keep data collection to what the app needs to work — we do not sell your data or use it for advertising profiles.
Information we collect
- Account details — your email address and name, and a password. Passwords are stored hashed (PBKDF2), not in plain text. If you sign in with Google or Facebook, we receive your email and name from that provider instead of a password.
- Your prayer records — the prayer statuses you log (prayed, in masjid, missed, qaza, etc.) against each date. This is the core data the app exists to store for you.
- Location preference — an optional city/country you set so prayer times and the Qibla direction are accurate. Prayer-time and Qibla calculations on your device may use your device location; that location is used on-device and is not sent to us as a tracking history.
- Usage and device analytics — to understand how the app is used and fix problems, we record events such as screen views, taps, app version, and your IP address (used for approximate region and abuse prevention). These are stored in our own analytics log, not shared with ad networks.
- Communication preferences — whether you have opted in to email reminders and the weekly/monthly newsletter.
How we use it
- To provide the service: save your prayer log, compute your streaks, stats and missed-prayer reports.
- To send prayer reminders and, only if you opt in, weekly/monthly summary emails.
- To respond to feedback, invites and contact-form messages you send us.
- To keep the app reliable and secure, and to improve it based on aggregate usage.
How it is stored and shared
Data is stored on Cloudflare’s infrastructure (Workers and the D1 database). We use Brevo (Sendinblue) to deliver email. We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share data only with these service providers as needed to run the app, or where required by law.
Security
Connections use HTTPS/TLS, passwords are hashed, and admin access is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
Your choices
- Update your profile, location, and email preferences in Settings.
- Turn off the newsletter any time from Settings, or reply “unsubscribe” to a newsletter email.
- Delete your account yourself — Settings → Delete account on the web, or Profile → Delete account in the mobile app. This erases your account, your whole prayer history and your activity immediately and permanently; it cannot be undone.
- Request a copy of your data by emailing us (below).
Children
Namaaz Tracker is intended for general audiences and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected here with a new “Last updated” date.
