How to use Namaaz Tracker
The one-minute tour
Everything the app does, and where to find it.
Getting started
Install the app on iPhone or Android, or use the website. Both are the same account, so a prayer logged on your phone shows on the website and back.
- Pick your language: English, Hindi, Gujarati, Urdu or Arabic.
- Create an account, or sign in with the one you have.
- Choose your Hijri calendar. Dawoodi Bohra (Misri) is the default.
The app has seven tabs: Today, Calendar, Stats, Duas, Qibla, Tasbeeh and Profile.
Log your namaaz
On Today, tap a prayer and pick what happened:
- Prayed with Maula TUS (on the Bohra calendar)
- Prayed in Masjid, Prayed in Markaz / Imamat or Prayed on Time
- Prayed after Time (Qaza)
- Missed in Travel or Missed
Nothing is ever marked for you. Each row shows that prayer’s window, so you can see whether it is still on time.
Swipe right on a prayer to save your usual status for it in one move. Set those under Profile → Default Prayer Status.
Forgot yesterday? The Log yesterday row fills every prayer you left blank, and you can change any of them after.
Pray Zuhr with Asr and Maghrib with Isha? Turn on Merge prayers in Profile and Today shows three rows instead of five.
Prayer times and location
The card at the top of Today shows the next prayer and the city your times are for. Tap the city to choose another one, or to use your phone’s location.
Times follow the Bohra (Fatimid) rule. See how each window is calculated. Where your jamaat’s timetable differs, follow your jamaat.
Reminders
Turn these on or off in Profile:
- Prayer Time Reminders: a note when each prayer starts. Tap Prayed ✓ or Prayed in Masjid right on it to log the prayer without opening the app.
- Qaza Reminder: every few days, a count of the prayers you marked missed. It stops once you have made them up.
- Quran Reminder: a daily nudge at the time you choose.
- Email Reminders: an email to log your prayers.
Quran
On Today, tick Quran read today and watch your Quran streak grow. It is kept separate from your namaaz streak, so a missed reading never breaks your prayer streak.
The Quran khatam row tracks the juz you have read with − and +. Reaching 30 records a khatam and starts the next one. To add a khatam you finished earlier, use Stats.
Memorizing the Quran? Check your hifz with Qari, our recitation checker, from the Quran section on Today or the Quran card in Stats.
Don’t want any of this? Turn off Quran Tracker in Profile. Your history stays safe, and turning it back on brings it all back.
Calendar
Every day of the month at a glance, each with its Hijri date. A dot shows how that day went. Tap any day to see or change it.
Stats and your monthly report
Stats shows your streak, the month by status, each prayer’s record, your Quran numbers and your year.
On the first days of each month, the app opens your Monthly report: what went well, what to work on, and how it compares with the month before. Open any month’s report from the button at the top of Stats, and share it as a picture.
Make up missed prayers
Profile → Missed report shows the days with prayers you marked missed. Tap a day to mark the ones you have made up as qaza.
Need to fill in many days, for example from before you started? Profile → Bulk update fills a whole range at once.
Duas
Build your own daily list on the Duas tab. Pick from the list or add your own, then tick each one as you read it. Removing a dua keeps its history, so adding it back later picks up where you left off.
Qibla
Hold the phone flat and turn until the arrow points up. If it looks wrong, swing the phone in a figure-eight away from metal to calibrate the compass. Check your city’s bearing.
Tasbeeh
Tap anywhere to count. Set a target, and each full round is counted for you. Keep several tasbeehs, each with its own count.
Home-screen widgets
Touch and hold an empty spot on your home screen, add a widget, and search for Namaaz Tracker.
- Prayer Times: clock, both dates, and the namaaz to pray now highlighted
- Today and Checklist: tick your prayers right from the home screen
- Next Prayer: a countdown to the next namaaz
- Quran and Khatam: today’s reading and your juz progress
- Tasbeeh: count without opening the app
- Streak, Week, Hijri and Qibla
Widgets follow the app’s light or dark setting.
Family and friends circles
From Today, open Circles to make a circle and share its six-letter code, or join one with a code. Everyone sees how many prayers each person prayed over the last seven days, and nothing more: no statuses and no email addresses. Up to 12 people in a circle.
Make it yours
In Profile: Language, light or dark mode, your Hijri Calendar (and Hijri Day Diff if your local sighting is a day apart), and your default statuses.
Enjoying it? Invite friends & family from Today or Profile. Something not right? Feedback & suggestions comes straight to us.
