Frequently asked questions
When does the Zohar window end, and when does Asr start?
The span from zawaal (solar noon) to sunset is split in three. Zohar owns the first third, Asr the second, so Asr starts exactly where Zohar ends. This is not the Shafi shadow time a general prayer app computes, which can be over an hour later. Full rule: how each prayer window is calculated.
How long do Maghrib and Isha stay ada?
Both stay ada until nisf al-layl, which is zawaal plus twelve hours. The short “Maghrib end” some tables print is its makhsus stretch, when Maghrib has the time to itself — not the end of the window.
Does the app mark a prayer as missed or qaza on its own?
No. Nothing is ever set automatically. Every status is one you pick. That is why the window shown on each tile matters — it is the app telling you what is still ada, and the decision stays yours.
How do I record prayers I missed in the past?
Use Bulk to fill in a whole range of days at once, or open any past date from the Calendar. Missed lists what is still outstanding, and the app can remind you every three days while anything is marked missed.
Why is my Hijri date a day different from someone else’s?
The Dawoodi Bohra (Misri) calendar runs one whole day ahead of the tabular Islamic calendar. Pick your reckoning in Settings, and use the day adjustment there if you follow a local sighting. Details: Hijri calendar variants.
My qibla compass points the wrong way. What do I do?
Calibrate first — swing the phone in a figure-eight, outdoors, away from cars, speakers and anything metal. An uncalibrated magnetometer is the fault that makes the needle point nearly opposite, and it will not fix itself. Then check the reading against the published bearing for your city.
Is it free? What do I get for a Pro account?
Tracking your namaaz is free, forever, on the web and in both apps. Registering gives you 30 days of Pro, and inviting friends earns more free Pro days as each one registers, up to 360. You can also upgrade or gift an account.
How do I turn reminders on or off?
In the app, Profile has switches for prayer-time reminders, the daily nudge, the qaza chase and the Quran reminder. For email reminders, open Settings and toggle “Email reminders to log your prayers”.
Can I delete my account and everything in it?
Yes, permanently and immediately — no email, no waiting. In the app it is Profile → Delete account; on the web it is at the bottom of Settings. Both ask for your password. Every row belonging to the account is erased, including prayer history, duas and khatams. See the privacy policy.
Do my phone and the website stay in sync?
Yes — they are the same account and the same database, so a prayer logged on your phone shows on the website and back. The one thing that is deliberately separate is the prayer location: the app keeps its own, so travelling with your phone does not move the website’s times.
